ASMS Converse Lecture Sat, Sep 28 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

The American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons (ASMS) is proud to present Warren Schubert, MD as the 2024 Converse Lecturer.

Dr. Schubert’s address, A Career of Maxillofacial Surgery, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, in room 30ABC of the San Diego Convention Center.

Dr. Schubert is a general plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Regions Hospital, which is a Level 1 trauma hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, and a core training hospital for Plastic Surgery Residents at the University of Minnesota. His primary interests are education, maxillofacial trauma and reconstruction, hand surgery, and surgical programs in low-resource countries.

Dr. Schubert is also a Professor of Surgery and Orthopedics at the University of Minnesota. He has served as past program chair at the national annual meetings of the American Society for Peripheral Nerve (ASPN), the American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS), the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons (ASMS), and the Hand/ Microsurgery Scientific sections for the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS).

He reorganized and chaired the Basic ASMS Maxillofacial Course for 10 years, chaired the AO Craniomaxillofacial (AOCMF) International Board for 6 years, and has given more than 500 lectures at AO courses in 29 countries.

History of the Converse Lecture

The Converse Lecture is named for John Marquis Converse, MD. Dr. Converse was an internationally known plastic surgeon. He founded the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at New York University School of Medicine, acted as its first Director, and served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery.

Accreditation: The American Society of Plastic Surgeons® (ASPS) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Designation: The ASPS designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
