Panelists in this session will discuss a variety of principles in using mesh for primary breast surgery to ensure best outcomes and minimize complications for the patient. Discussion topics will include:
- Indication and Selection
- Mesh Type and Material
- Preoperative Planning
- Techniques, Tension and Positioning
- Integration and post-operative healing and recovery
Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to
- Identify a variety of biologic and mesh products.
- Evaluate the uses of the patient's own tissue instead of mesh for autologous control.
- Describe the various planes and implantation techniques specifically for primary breast augmentation in various planes as well as primary mastopexy, augmentation mastopexy, and auto augmentation.
