Managing a Hand Surgery Practice: Perspectives from the Trenches Friday, September 27 Fri, Sep 27 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. PDT
A successful hand surgery practice has many distinct but interconnected facets. This panel discusses several of the key aspects of a complete hand practice. Panelists will address a diverse range of topics including negotiating with insurance payors, owning and running a surgery center, office based procedures, and utilization of nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other key staff.
Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:
- Understand the principles of establishing a successful surgery center.
- Articulate the value and workflow associated with office based procedures.
- Discuss the roles of physician assistants and nurse practitioners in enhancing a hand surgery practice.
- Glean some insights about balancing a hand practice with other reconstructive and cosmetic procedures.
