Ultrasound has become an increasingly valuable tool in facial injection procedures due to its ability to provide real-time imaging and enhance precision. Ultrasound imaging is used in a variety of ways including:

  1. Anatomical Mapping
  2. Guidance for Injection Placement
  3. Assessment of tissue depth

Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Understand how ultrasounds are used in the location of muscles, nerves, blood vessels and fat pads.
  2. Recognize the importance of depth information for various types of injectables.
  3. Identify how ultrasounds assist in minimizing complications and bruising.
